Once you know what you want to sell, focus on building quality content around that idea. That’s why its much easier to write about something you know a lot about. Some people are now saying that its not so important to know your subject in depth, searching for a profitable product is more important. However if you know about a subject and can offer quality advise to the rest of us, then I would much rather visit your site than one that is purely motivated to make money from a profitable niche without the knowledge behind that subject. I wouldn’t so much care about the appearance of your site, as long as I felt comfortable about your level of topical knowledge and could sense through your content that you where passionate about that subject, I would also know that you would most probably be an expert on where to find the best resources for it. Gain my trust and you have won me as a customer. That’s the power of content! Never get side tracked with the temptation to make your design and graphical elements the center stage, but continually consider how these 3 actions affect your visitor’s mindset...
- HOW YOU REACH your visitor
- WHAT YOU SAY to your visitor
- HOW YOU REFER him/her to your merchant
Get inside your visitor's head -- realize how he/she will feel each step of the way. Whatever you do, consider the impact on your visitor -- if it does not make her “open to buy,” don't do it.
If you follow these guidelines from the start you will save a lot of time and effort having to go back and change it due to the lack of sales you generate. If you already have a business but are not getting the high conversion rates and product sales you expected and deserve, look again closely at these points, you probably don't have to work harder, but simply channel your motivation in a slightly better direction.
- HOW are you reaching your visitor?
- Free-For-All Sites (FFAs) are a great example of how not to reach people. For the most part,
FFAs have become so seamy and useless that no matter what you say, you’re doomed from
the start.
- Compare this with how smart and open-minded your visitor feels when she finds you via a Search Engine!
- If you are paying a search engine for sponsored links e.g. Google Adwords or Yahoo Overture,
You will have more success when you create keyword rich titles for your articles that match the
most commonly searched keyphrases for your topic. Do not include characters such as quotes
or asterisks that the search engines have to sort through before finding the relevant keywords.
- Banners, are the best example of how not to refer your visitor to your site or merchant.
In plain and simple language, people feel “pitched” when they click on a banner.
And people who feel “pitched” are difficult to convert into a sale.
- WHAT are you saying to Your Visitor?
- Don’t write your site, blog or article purely devoted to “hard-selling”. Imagine a visitor who hits
your site and reads an immediate sales pitch. You may be confident that the products you are selling
or referring your reader to are perfect for them but the problem is that your visitor does not know you
and may resist any sale until you have gained their trust.
- HOW are you referring your visitor to your merchant / product?
- Yes, I know “they're so-o-o-o-o easy.” It’s always easy to not make money.
That’s how all those get-rich-quick-guys do so well... the allure of easy money.
No such thing. I must repeat… don’t use banners.
- For ways not to refer your customer, a close 2nd to banner adds is "Selling" instead of "PREselling".
Remember your success will always depend on "what" you do and "how" you do it.
In life, the vast majority of people just keep doing the “same old thing.”
Life seems easier that way. But “doing the same old thing” guarantees the “same old results.”
So in the long run, it’s actually much, much harder. Get inside your visitors head, give them what
they are looking for, gain their confidence and trust in you.
There are many resources on the internet giving advise on how to make money online, many people have written e-books and are making a fortune selling them. Remember that success is much more than just putting up a site or throwing a few affiliate URL's here and there. Don’t be caught by the “cheap-quick-easy” advertising lure… If you want to buy an e-book that will show you the principles and techniques to start earning money online I would recommend DotCom Income Secrets by Jerry Moore. The price is sensible, only $9.97 and it has a plenty of information for the beginner wanting to start make money online. Don't be caught up with people offering free website's with their packages claiming to save you $100's. These people are making a fortune on hype and false promises. I wouldn't recommend spending over the $9.97 for anyone selling information on how to start generating an income online. Most of the information people are selling for profit is available for free on the web.

If you are lucky enough to have the skills to build your own website, you can have a lot of fun and make a substantial amount of money online by following the advise I am about to share with you. However if you do not know the first thing about HTML (the language used for creating web page’s) you can still build your own website by learning how to use a WYSIWYG (What You See is What You Get) editor such as Dreamweaver or Frontpage. Of course you can still make money online without a complicated website. One of the ways is to create an online Blog and take advantage of Google Adsense to generate an income by placing Google adds on it. Google Adsense is a very fast way for people with any kind of website or Blog to display relevant Google ads on their pages. Google will then pay you every time someone clicks an Adsense add on your Blog or website. Adsense ads are simply text advertisements from other relevant businesses placed on your Blog or website. Blogging or writing an article about your ideas and interests is a very easy and effective way to generate targeted traffic to affiliate links. You can team up with some excellent businesses who will provide you with your own personal affiliate link or URL. Then if someone buys a product from that company through your link you receive a percentage of that sale. But first, you need to decide what you are going to write about. Making Money Online Tips
When I first decided to invest my time and energy into learning how to create my own online income, maybe like you, I had a certain amount of stress trying to find ways of doing it!
